Gone to Sasquatch

We are leaving on Tuesday now instead of Wednesday, just to split the drive up a little bit. Which means no blog posts this week or next week, sorry.

Things will return to normal here on the 6th of June. Expect some Festival-related blog posts after that.

Have a great couple weeks!

This will be me on Friday!

Taylor Swift Medley

A while ago when I was all into mashups and medleys I wanted to make my own, so I arranged this medley of Taylor Swift songs and I just got around to recording it.

I am by no means a professional anything and I know I'm not that great at singing or playing guitar, I just do it for fun so no hatin'. And maybe turn it up because the sound quality isn't that great.

I am mostly posting this because I think my sister will like it and I am a little bit posting it because I'm kind of proud of it so yeah. Enjoy.

*Book stuff is still the same, probably going to finish Nine Stories this week if I ever sit down and read it instead of just watching Arrested Development on Netflix all the time.*

Gotta get down on Friday

I've been seeing these "what's in my bag" photos on the internet and I thought they looked cool so I thought I'd make one. My camera was also in my bag but I couldn't take a picture of my camera, obviously, while using it.

Have a great weekend, everyone.

Pocketful of Sunshine

I am having a really bummer week.
The weather is so bad here. It's not even that it's rainy, it's just that it's sort of...drizzly every day. So it's grey and overcast but without the promise of a really good rainstorm. I wish it would just pour and then be sunny, but no, it's this stupid in-between weather so my allergies are acting up and I wake up with a sinus headache every day. And you know, when it's not sunny I feel more depressed.
And besides that I've just been feeling down about some things so I've been really lazy and unmotivated lately. Which means I haven't been too inspired to create anything and I haven't had any really good ideas for a blog post.

So, in an effort to squelch the negativity and spread the sunshine, here are some things that did make me happy so far this week.

1. The Sasquatch Schedule came out. So we could plan which bands we would go see at which times and stuff. That was exciting. I realize it's probably not a big deal to anybody not going to the festival but the line-up is so awesome! 14 sleeps until we leave!

2. This letter I read in Entertainment Weekly about the article they had a couple issues ago about the last Harry Potter movie:

"Every time I see 'the end' in one of your Harry Potter features, I get a bit teary-eyed. I started readingSorcerer's Stone in first grade, and will be watching Part 2 soon after graduating from high school. So I prefer to think of 'the end' this way: Harry will only truly have left this world when none here are loyal to him."

3. This commercial.

4. This moment

TOMS shoes

You have probably heard of TOMS shoes. It seems like everybody has them nowadays, which is AWESOME. But in case you haven't, I am here to inform you.
TOMS is a shoe company started by a guy in the states who basically had the idea to give away shoes while selling shoes. Their mission statement, which is printed inside every shoe is: "With every pair you purchase, TOMS will give a pair of new shoes to a child in need. One for One."

So basically, when you buy a pair of TOMS, you are buying two pairs of shoes - one for yourself, and one for a kid in a developing country who can't afford shoes. So, if you think they are too expensive (a pair is usually 50 or 60 bucks) you are actually paying for two pairs. And think how much money people spend on Vans and other slip-on canvas shoes that DON'T help kids. (Hint: it is about the same amount.)

I got my first pair of TOMS last year in March or April.

And as you can see, they are well-worn. TOMS are pretty durable, it's just that I wore mine almost every day last summer and washed them a couple of times (handwashed in the sink, not in the washer.) They are so comfy!

Every order comes with a TOMS sticker, which I have on my laptop....

and a flag, which I have in my closet.

And now, the most exciting part of this post (and also the reason I wrote it....)

I got these in the mail today!

I didn't want to get the exact same ones, because I'm not going to get rid of my old ones (even though they're a little ragged...they have more character) but I wanted to get a pair that would be pretty versatile and could go with anything, so I got these ones.

They are so new and pretty.

And these ones are VEGAN! which is awwwwwesoooome.

              Watch this:

Have a great weekend, everybody!

Movies I Want To See This Summer

Water for Elephants
Release Date:This one is already out. I'm hopefully going to see it tomorrow night.
Starring: Reese Witherspoon, Robert Pattinson, Christoph Waltz
I read the book, so I want to see the film now.  And I love Reese Witherspoon.

The Hangover Part II
Release Date: May 26
Starring: Ed Helms, Zach Galifinakis, Bradley Cooper, Justin Bartha

X-Men: First Class
Release Date: June 3
Starring: James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence.

The Art of Getting By
Release Date: June 17
Starring: Emma Roberts, Freddie Highmore.
Looks like another Nick and Nora-type movie. But I think I'll like it.

Release Date: June 24
Starring: Cameron Diaz, Justin Timberlake, Jason Segal, Phyllis Smith

Release Date: July 1
Starring: Selena Gomez, Leighton Meester, Katie Cassidy.
Movies the trailer reminds me of: Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants, Parent Trap (the Lohan one), The Lizzie McGuire movie.
Also, can I just point out that the trailer features a Selena Gomez song? and she is the star of the movie.
Buuut, as much as I roll my eyes at this one I think it looks like the perfect summertime feel good movie to go to with my sister. So it makes the list.

Release Date: July 15
Starring: Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Ralph Fiennes.
I only kind of want to see this one. It's not like I've been waiting for it since I was 9 or anything.

Release Date: July 29
Starring: Steve Carrell, Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Julianne Moore.
Dan in Real Life + Hitch with Emma Stone? Looks awesome.

One Day
Release Date: August 19
Starring: Anne Hathaway, Jim Sturgess
Even though I didn't really like the book, I thought it was a cool concept and as I was reading it thought it would make a better movie than a book, so I want to see this.

What movies are you excited for this summer?

Books Read:12
Currently Reading: I have to read another manuscript for my parents' company. I'll probably do that today and tomorrow.
